The primary role of this position is work as Mechanical designer. The person also provides technical support and expertise to Company programs in the field of advanced solid state lasers, optics, and optical systems.
This R&D Mechanical designer will be part of a highly skilled multi-expertise technical team working in the main company site in Pavia (Italy)
- Technical degree with knowledge in the field of Optics or Electronics Physics, or related field.
- Knowledge of English language r/w/s
- ñ Active and creative attitude to problem finding/solving
- Willingness to learn and to share knowledge within working team
Desired (not mandatory) Skills
Bachelor/Master degree in Optical/Electrical Engineering, Physics or related fields
1-3 years of working experience in the laser/optical industry or other technical field.
Familiarity with Inventor or other design software.

Bright Solutions offers extended temperature range options on several high power DPSS lasers. Extreme operating conditions can be requested on Sol and Onda ns DPSS lasers, as well as on Wedge and other sub-ns laser products, to assure stable performance for applications that require operation outdoors, in the field, airborne, under water or in space. When featuring extended operating range options, our lasers can be singularly qualified and tested at their specified operating conditions. In this picture, an air cooled Sol ns laser is tested in our climatic chamber at -35°C for long term operation at 10W, 532nm. Temperature stress tests can be regularly performed in our climatic chamber, from -60°C, to +80°C.
Extreme operating ranges can be achieved thanks to dedicated optical designs, specific components selection and through smart and powerful internal temperature controls.
Most extended temperature options do not require any modification to the exterior footprint of Onda and Sol lasers, therefore no mechanical modifications will be necessary for systems integrating such lasers in different environmental conditions.
Mil-spec systems, airborne lasers and outdoor pollution monitoring stations are just a few application examples.

Based on our Fast Q-switching Design, the UV versions of Wedge and Onda are having an increasing success in several high – tech application fields and in special marking processes.
UV versions of the Wedge HF and Onda feature excellent beam quality (M2 <1.3 and beam roundness >90%) and high peak power – up to 40kW – and can perform high-resolution microprocessing tasks in electronic applications (OLED manufacturing, trimming and corrections), marking and patterning on special materials (delicate plastics, CR39 lenses, glass).
Thanks to our proprietary Active Q-Switch Technology, the delicate UV optics are not affected by degradation when the laser is in pause or stand-by mode, but only during UV lasing action, which is triggered by the user. This feature allows to increase the lifetime of our UV laser sources.
In Wedge HF and Onda lasers, the FHG stage can also be refurbished on site using specific HW and SW tools provided by the Company.
The high energy models (up to 0.5 mJ at 266nm), like Wedge-HB and Wedge-XB, can be useful when relatively low repetition rates are require (few kHz range), in many industrial and LIDAR applications.
All our UV solutions feature our typical single-unit compact air-cooled design as standard configuration. Optional packages and cooling concepts are available.
