100 W – 300 ps DPSS Lasers in a compact robust package

Bright Solutions’ sub-ns DPSS lasers are field proven subsystems of many portable lidar sensors. Many successful installations have confirmed worldwide the ability of these laser sources to operate on land vehicles as well as airplanes and helicopters. Keeping the concept of a ruggedized all-in-one IP 67 package, the company has now realized several higher power units featuring over 100W of average power at 1064 nm, with pulse durations in the range 300 to 900 ps and repetition rate up to 200 kHz.

Originally developed for aerospace applications, these laser units have now become powerful tools for the industry.

The lasers are based on the company’s proprietary unique sub-ns DPSS fast active Q-Switching technology continuously developed during the last decade. The consolidated single-unit and monolithic design facilitates the integration of these high power MOPA lasers in OEM industrial applications like micro-machining and ablation as well as in high-precision high-throughput LIDAR sensors.

Infrared (1064nm) and green (532nm) solutions are available in semi-customized packages, equipped with either industrial or Mil-spec connectors.

UV sub-ns DPSS lasers

PDMS Cutting

After several years of in-house testing and intensive testing in the field for some pilot  programs, Bright Solutions is happy to announce their new UV versions of the Wedge Lasers, the industrial sub-ns DPSS laser solution. The Wedge HF and XF are now available at 355nm and 266nm!

The Wedge HF and XF offer a pulse width less than 450ps, peak power up to 80 kW, are configurable in several frequency ranges from Single Shot to 200 kHz, and include the low jitter option. The compact all-in-one air-cooled package (contact cooled, or water-cooled versions are also available) makes them the preferred laser choice for LIDAR systems, marking systems, and micromachining equipment.

Atmospherical monitoring, biophotonic systems, OLED panel manufacturing, and anti-counterfeit coding on ophthalmic lenses, are just a few examples of the applications already qualified.

More details will be available during Photonics West 2019 in a few days.

State-of-the-art miniature UV laser and new smart laser driver

Nowadays many applications, such as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) LiDAR, biophotonics instruments, automotive and handheld LIBS demand high performance solutions with reduced size, weight and power consumption (SWaP). This is exactly what Bright Microlaser is pursuing while launching a new laser package for UV microchip lasers (P4 package) and the new smart laser driver which is more user friendly than previous versions, yet still compatible with older models.

A major optical re-design of the UV models led to the innovative P4 package, the smallest pulsed UV laser on the market, featuring 2kW peak-power in 1ns pulses at 236, 266 and 355 nm. Excellent beam quality, spectral properties and long-term stability have been tested and proven in all application environments, from research labs to industrial, automotive and airborne.

The new laser driver is meant for smarter laser operation, offering OEM integrators a higher degree of monitoring and control capabilities of key laser parameters, real time feedback with a remote-control connection and new and improved GUI software.

Bright Microlaser’s activity is focused on continuous development, pursuing higher reliability, simplified usability, maintenance and service for its devices. This opens up more and more opportunities in new markets and emerging applications, making Bright Microlaser a leading manufacturer of microchip lasers.
